DIFFICULTY = Easy

Yarn: Luxury Silk by LAINES DU NORD
One size: 7 balls x 50 grams of col. 15
Circular needles: 5.5 mm tips with cable of varying lengths to accommodate the growing number of sts
Crochet hook: 5.5 mm
Others: tapestry needle, scissors, tape measure.

SHARE:

The shawl is worked from the bottom up, starting at the bottom tip and increasing on both sides to create the classic triangular shape.

STITCHES USED – KNITTING NEEDLES
Stockinette stitch (in back-and-forth rows):
R 1 (RS): knit all sts.
R 2 (WS): purl all sts.
Always rep. r 1 and 2.

STITCHES USED – CROCHET-HOOK
Crab stitch: work single crochet from left to right.

RS = right side of work
WS = wrong side of work
r = row/s
st/sts = stitch/es
col = color
k = knit
ktbl = knit through the back loop (insert the right needle into the back loop of the next stitch on the left needle and knit)
bind off = bind off the stitches using the skp technique (slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over).
rep = repeat
rep ** = repeat from * to *
p = purl
ptbl = purl through the back loop (insert the right needle into the back loop of the next stitch on the left needle and purl)
k1-long = on the RS: insert the right needle into a st, wrap the yarn twice around the needle and pull through. On the WS: knit the first loop and drop the second loop.
Inc-r k1-long: right-leaning elongated increase (pick up the strand between 2 sts from back to front with the left needle, wrap the yarn twice and knit it).
Inc-l k1-long: left-leaning elongated increase (Pick up the strand between 2 sts from front to back with the left needle, wrap the yarn twice, and ktbl).
Inc-r k: right-leaning knit increase (pick up the strand between 2 sts from back to front with the left needle and knit it).
Inc-l k: left-leaning knit increase (pick up the strand between 2 sts from front to back with the left needle and ktbl).
Inc-r p: right-leaning purl increase (pick up the strand between 2 sts from back to front with the left needle and purl it).
Inc-l p: left-leaning purl increase (pick up the strand between 2 sts from front to back with the left needle and ptbl).

R 20 (WS): (k1 into the 1st loop of the double yo, letting the 2nd loop drop to elongate the st) rep in every group of double yo across the r.
R 21 (RS): k1, inc-r k, knit to 1 st before the end, inc-l k, k1.

FINISHING
Using the crochet hook, work 1 round of crab st evenly along all 3 edges of the shawl.
Weave in all ends.

Fringes: for each fringe, cut 10 strands of yarn, each 50 cm long. Group them together and fold in half. Insert the crochet hook through 1 st along a slanted edge of the shawl, hook the folded midpoint of the strands and pull through to create a loop. Pull the loose ends through the loop and tighten firmly to secure the knot around the st. Attach 32 fringes evenly along each slanted edge and 1 fringe at the bottom tip of the shawl. Trim the fringes evenly to the desired length using scissors.

Wet and block the shawl.
