DETAILED PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS

BASE

Using Folie Bag yarn, shape a magic ring.

Round 1: 1 ch (this is the turning ch, so never count it as a st), 6 sc in the ring; pull the end of the yarn to tighten the ring, 1 sl st in the beg sc. [6 sc]

Round 2: 1 ch and 2 sc in the 1st st, place 1 SM in the 1st sc of the round, and always move it in the 1st sc of every next round, 2 sc in each of the next 5 sc; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [12 sc]

Round 3: 1 ch, (1 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [18 sc]

Round 4: 1 ch, (2 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [24 sc]

Round 5: 1 ch, (3 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [30 sc]

Round 6: 1 ch, (4 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [36 sc]

Round 7: 1 ch, (5 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [42 sc]

Round 8: 1 ch, (6 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [48 sc]

Round 9: 1 ch, (7 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [54 sc]

Round 10: 1 ch, (8 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [60 sc]

Round 11: 1 ch, (9 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [66 sc]

Round 12: 1 ch, (10 sc, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times; 1 sl st in the beg sc. Do not cut the yarn. [72 sc]

The round base measures 20 cm in diameter.

CYLINDER-SHAPED BAG BODY

Always move the SM in the 1st sc of every round.

Round 1: 1 ch, 1 BLO sc in each sc of the round; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [72 BLO sc]

Round 2: 1 ch, 1 sc in each sc of the round; 1 sl st in the beg sc. [72 sc]

Round 3 to 30: rep the round 2.

Round 31: 1 ch, 1 sl st in each sc of the round; 1 sl st in the beg sl st. Cut the yarn and fasten off, then hide the ends on WS.

The body measures 22 cm in height; if necessary, add or remove a couple of rounds.

HANDLE

The handle consists of a long strap of single crochet, approximately 85 cm in length. The first and last 22 cm section will be sewn vertically along both sides of the bag, while the central section (20 cm in length approx.) shape the handle.

Using fuchsia Natual bag, chain 111, leaving approx. 35 cm tail for sewing.

Row 1: 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch until the end of the row, 1 turning ch (never count the turning ch as a st). [110 sc]

Note: Check that the single crochet strip measures 85 cm; if not, adjust the number of base chains (everyone has a different tension).

Row 2 to 8: 110 sc, 1 turning ch. Cut the yarn and fasten off, leaving approx. 35 cm tail for sewing.

FINISHING

Using the SM, pin the first section of the strap vertically along the length of the bag body. Repeat the same to pin the last section along the opposite side of the bag. The central section consists of about 45 sc and remains free above the top opening. Before sewing the strap, check that there are the same number of sl st between the two sections of the strap along the top edge of the bag (round 31) on both the front and back. Using the yarn tails and darning needle, sew the first and last section of the strap, as shown in the photos. Tie off the thread.

Work the bag bottom-up. Work the base in round, closing every round with 1 sl st. To mark the round, place 1 SM in the 1st sc of every round and move it upwards as you go. The handle consists of a long strap; sew the first and last section vertically along both sides of the bag body.
